BlazinAZtv Live @ the Icehouse is a chance for fans and those trying to get their “foot in the door” to meet and learn from industry leaders and local trailblazers.
“Random, aka Mega Ran is preparing to launch his fan funded album/comic/videogame
experience (he scored over $15k in 30 days through kickstarter) “Language Arts” and
kicks it off with the fun first single, “Wake Up,” featuring the ‘godfather of ‘nerdcore’ MC
Frontalot. The Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes sample propel Ran and Front through their
perspective stories about a serious case of The Mondays. This is Philly Soul meets the everyday
struggle. The album drops May 22 and features Wordsworth, Punchline, Wax, Homeboy
Sandman and many more.
A former middle school teacher from Philadelphia, Random became “Mega Ran” when he
decided to turn tracks from his favorite video game, “Mega Man,” into hip hop and dance
tracks and perform original lyrics over them. This power-up landed him in the good graces of
international game developer CAPCOM, who offered Ran an exclusive licensing agreement, the
first of its kind for an independent artist. Since then Ran has traveled the world, performing on
stages in clubs and game conventions, spreading the word of positivity and perseverance. An
impressive “freestyle” MC, Ran adds an amazing impromptu rhyme session to each of his high-
energy shows, which could go anywhere and everywhere, and often does.”
